Japan-Jordan Relations

On October 21, commencing at 7:30 p.m. for approximately 10 minutes at the Akasaka Palace State Guest House, Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, held a meeting with HRH Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, Crown Prince of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, who is visiting Japan. The overview of the meeting is as follows.
 
1. At the outset, Prime Minister Abe stated that Japan’s Imperial Family and Jordan’s Royal Family have had traditionally friendly relations, and that it was an honor to welcome HRH Crown Prince Hussein to the Ceremony of the Enthronement.
 
2. In addition, Prime Minister Abe expressed Japan’s intention to continue cooperating with Jordan upon bilateral collaborative projects, as well as issues surrounding the Middle East, including the Middle East Peace Process, reconstruction of Iraq, and the situation in Syria.
 
3. In response, HRH Crown Prince Hussein expressed his intention to further deepen Japan-Jordan friendly relations such as through Aqaba-Process. HRH Crown Prince commended the strenuous efforts of the Japanese national team at the Rugby World Cup 2019.
