Japan-Jordan Foreign Ministers' Meeting and Working Dinner

On December 16, commencing at 5:30 p.m. for approximately one hour and 50 minutes, Mr. Fumio Kishida, Minister for Foreign Affairs, held a meeting and working dinner with His Excellency Mr. Nasser Judeh, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The overview is as follows.

3 The two ministers exchanged views on regional affairs, including the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), Syria and Middle East peace process, and shared the view that the two countries will work closely together.

- Japan expresses respect for the role Jordan is playing in the frontline of bringing stability of the Middle East region, such as measures to counter extremism and its acceptance of Syrian refugees. Jordan's stability is extremely important in the turbulent Middle East region.
- Japan is delighted at excellent relationship, and intends to cooperate as much as possible and in a wide range of fields with Jordan, which is the cornerstone of regional stability.
