On September 4, commencing at 12:25 p.m. local time (6:25 p.m. JST) for about 20 minutes, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, during his visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, was granted an audience with His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The overview is as follows.

  1. At the outset, Minister Hayashi stated that he was honored to visit Jordan for the first time in his capacity as Minister for Foreign Affairs and meet His Majesty again. His Majesty King Abdullah welcomed Minister Hayashi's visit and stated, by referring to his visit to Japan in April, that friendly Japanese-Jordanian relations have been developing steadily, and that he looks forward to further deepening the cooperative relationship.
  2. The two sides also exchanged views on the situations in the Middle East, including Israel, Palestine and Syria. They concurred to continue to coordinate closely for peace and stability at both regional and global level.
