Foreign Minister MOTEGI’s Visit to the Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC)

On January 11 local time (on January 11, Japan time), Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, visited the Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) during his visit to Israel. The overview is as follows:
- Minister MOTEGI toured the facility with the guidance of CMCC officials, including Lt. Gen. Patrick Frank, commander of U.S. Army Central (ARCENT), and saw the ongoing efforts of preparations for humanitarian assistance to Gaza and deliberations for the works of debris removal.
- Minister MOTEGI exchanged views with CMCC officials and stated that Japan will actively play its role in advancing President Trump's "Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict".
- Minister MOTEGI introduced Ambassador Mr. OKUBO Takeshi, who is in charge of Gaza Rebuilding Assistance, along with a Japanese humanitarian assistance expert and a JICA representative, to the CMCC officials. Minister MOTEGI expressed Japan's aims to strengthen collaboration with the CMCC, and contribute adamantly to smooth implementation of humanitarian aid and the recovery and reconstruction of Gaza, while soliciting support for the Japan team.
- In response, the CMCC officials welcomed Minister MOTEGI's visit and expressed expectations regarding Japan's role, including the dispatch of Ambassador OKUBO and Japanese humanitarian aid experts to the CMCC.
