Japan-Israel Relations

On Wednesday, November 29 2017, the Third Dialogue on Cyber Issues between Japan and Israel was held in Tokyo. The meeting was headed by Mr. Masato Otaka, Ambassador in charge of Cyber Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the Japanese side, with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Cabinet Secretariat (the National Security Secretariat, the National Center of Incident Readiness and Strategy for Cyber Security, the Cabinet Intelligence Research Office), the National Police Agency, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Defense attending, among others. The Israeli side was headed by Mr. Yigal Unna, Chief Executive Director, Cyber Technologies Unit of the Israel National Cyber Directorate, with representatives of the Israel National Cyber Directorate, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Israel in Japan attending.

In this Dialogue, issues such as recent updates of cyber security policies, views on current state of affairs in cyberspace, global perspectives on cyber, and capacity building and human resources development were discussed.
