Japan-Uruguay Relations
Courtesy call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs MIYAJI by Mrs. Csukasi, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay

On October 2, commencing at 11:00 a.m., for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. MIYAJI Takuma, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call by H.E. Mrs. Valeria Csukasi, Vice Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay during her visit to Japan for attending the 4th Japan-Uruguay Policy Consultation. The overview of the meeting is as follows.
- At the beginning of the meeting, State Minister Miyaji welcomed Vice Minister Csukasi on her visit to Japan and expressed her pleasure that Japan and Uruguay have strengthened a friendly relationship, sharing fundamental values and principles. In response, Vice Miniter Csukasi expressed her desire to continue strengthening bilateral relations in various fields.
- Reviewing the recent relations between Japan and Uruguay, the two sides highly evaluated the progress of people-to-people exchanges, including Uruguay’s participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. They reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the bilateral relationship.
- They also exchanged views on regional situations such as North Korea and East Asia and concurred to continue coordinating with each other.
