- As of July 1, Japan will lift the measures recommending obtaining a visa in advance for the Peruvian nationals in possession of valid Peruvian ordinary ICAO compliant IC passports traveling for the purpose of “short-term stay” for a period not exceeding 90 consecutive days. This was announced by Prime Minister Ishiba to President Boluarte at the Japan-Peru Summit Meeting in November 2024, and President Boluarte responded to Prime Minister Ishiba that she greatly welcomed Japan's decision.
- It is expected to further strengthen amicable relations with Peru, with which Japan has had diplomatic relations for more than 150 years, through the revitalization of people-to-people exchange between the two countries.
