Japan-Peru Relations

The Third Japan-Peru Political Dialogue Mechanism Meeting was held in Tokyo on June 21.

The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. ONO Keiichi, Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan and Mr. Peter CAMINO, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Peru. Other attendants included Mr. NOGUCHI Yasushi, Director-General of the Latin American and Caribbean Affairs Bureau, and H.E. Mr. Roberto Seminario, Ambassador of the Republic of Peru to Japan, as well as officials from the Government of Japan and the Embassy of the Republic of Peru in Japan.

Mr. Ono and Mr. Camino discussed bilateral relations based on the "strategic partnership" between Japan and Peru, cooperation in a wide range of areas and cooperation in international fora, in addition to regional and international economic relations including APEC and CPTTP. They also exchanged views on the situations in Ukraine, East Asia, and Latin America.
