State Minister for Foreign Affairs KUNIMITSU’s attendance at the National Day Reception of Peru

On July 27, Dr. Kunimitsu Ayano, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended the Peruvian National Day reception hosted by the Embassy of Peru in Japan in Tokyo. The outline is as follows:
- State Minister Kunimitsu expressed her congratulations on Peru's Independence Day and stated that Japan and Peru have the longest diplomatic relations in Latin America and are strategic partners who share values and principles. She also touched upon the importance of the approximately 200,000 people of Japanese descent in Peru, who serve as a bridge between the two countries.
- State Minister Kunimitsu also expressed her hope that exchanges and cooperation between Peru, led by the new President Fujimori, and Japan will deepen further in the future, including in political, economic, and cultural spheres.
