Courtesy Call on Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs ERI by Mr. Tenya, Ambassador-designate of the Republic of Peru to Japan

On 19 June, Ms. Eri Arfiya, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, received acourtesy call from H.E. Mr. Francisco Tenya Hasegawa, the Ambassador-designate of the Republic of Peru to Japan, for approximately 30 minutes from 3:00 p.m.
- At the outset, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Eri extended a heartfelt welcome to Ambassador Tenya on his arrival. Referring to her visit to Peru in February last year, she stated that Peru is an important partner for Japan, and expressed her desire to cooperate closely in the future to further develop Japan-Peru relations.
- In response, Ambassador Tenya stated that he would like to further strengthen the relationship between Japan and Peru, which have enjoyed over 150 years of friendly diplomatic relations and share values and principles.
- Both sides also exchanged views on the Nikkei community in Peru as a bridge between Japan and Peru, the strengthening of cooperation on global issues between the two countries, and the updated Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP).
