Letter of Condolences by Chief Cabinet Secretary HAYASHI on the Passing of Former Minister of Foreign Affairs Gervasi of the Republic of Peru
On September 20(local time; on September 19), following the passing of H.E. Ms. Ana Cecilia GERVASI DÍAZ，Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Peru on February 9 (local time; on February 8 JST) Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan sent a letter of condolences to H.E. Mr. Elmer José Germán Gonzalo SCHIALER SALCEDO, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Peru.
In the letter, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi conveyed his heartfelt condolences to former Foreign Minister Gervasi upon receiving the news of her passing. Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi also expressed his respect for the former Minister Gervasi, who further strengthened bilateral relations with Japan, through the mutual visits of the Foreign Ministers and the two meetings with Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi, who was serving as Minister for Foreign Affairs at the time, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between two countries in 2023. Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family of the former Minister Gervasi.
