The 8th Japan-Ecuador Policy Consultation

On July 2, the eighth Japan-Ecuador Policy Consultation was held in Tokyo. The Japanese side was represented by Mr. ISHIZE Motoyuki, Director-General of the Latin American and Caribbean Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the Ecuadorian side was represented by Mr. Alejandro DAVALOS, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Ecuador.
During the consultation, the two sides had a fruitful exchange of views on bilateral relations, including political, economic and trade relations, development cooperation, people to people exchange, and bilateral coordination in the international arena. They also held productive discussions on cross-border issues such as security and transnational organized crime, as well as on regional affairs in the Asia-Pacific and in Latin America.
