On June 12, Mr. Iwao Horii, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended the farewell reception of H.E. Mr. Ricardo Gustavo Rojas, Ambassador of Republic of Chile to Japan.

  1. State Minister Horii delivered a speech following Ambassador Rojas. He expressed his pleasure that during Ambassador Rojas's five-year tenure, the relationship between the two countries has become closer in various fields such as economy, science and technology, and defense, including Minister for Foreign Affairs Hayashi's visit to Chile, President Boric's and Foreign Minister Van Klaveren's visits to Japan, high-level meetings, active parliamentary exchanges, and a large number of visitors to the Chilean Pavilion at the Osaka-Kansai Expo.
  2. He also expressed his gratitude for Ambassador Rojas's contributions to promoting Japan-Chile relations during his tenure and expressed his hope for continued assistance in further strengthening the friendly relations between the two countries.
