Exchange of views between Parliamentary Vice-Minister ERI and Mr. Rojas, Ambassador of Chile to Japan

On May 27, commencing at 2:30 p.m. for approximately 20 minutes, Ms. ERI Arfiya, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a farewell courtesy call by H.E. Mr. Ricardo Gustavo ROJAS González, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Chile to Japan.

  1. At the outset, Parliamentary Vice-Minister ERI appreciated Ambassador Rojas’s active engagement and contribution to bilateral relations during his 5-year tenure in Japan, stating that the Japan-Chile bilateral relationship, as strategic partners, who share fundamental values and principles, had further deepened during the Ambassador's tenure.
  2. In response, Ambassador Rojas stated that he was pleased to have been able to work on further strengthening bilateral relations, including promoting people-to-people exchanges. He stated his hope that Japan-Chile relations would deepen further in various fields.
  3. In addition, Parliamentary Vice-Minister ERI explained the evolution of a free and open Indo-Pacific (FOIP) in light of the challenging international situation.
