Courtesy Call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs TAKEI Shunsuke by H.E. Mr. Rubén Eduardo Miguel TEMPONE, Ambassador-Designate of the Argentine Republic to Japan

On July 25, 2023, Mr. TAKEI Shunsuke, State Minister for Foreign Affairs received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Rubén Eduardo Miguel TEMPONE, Ambassador-Designate of the Argentine Republic to Japan. The overview is as follows.

State Minister Takei welcomed H.E. Mr. Tempone’s assumption of office as Ambassador-Designate to Japan, and noted that he would have a fruitful stay in Argentina during his visit in October 2022.

Ambassador-Designate Tempone expressed his hope to promote cooperation, among others, in the field of science and technology to further strengthen bilateral relations.

Regarding the discharge of ALPS treated water into the sea, State Minister Takei explained Japan's efforts conducted in a highly transparent manner, based on scientific evidence. Ambassador-Designate Tempone expressed his understanding and support on the Japan’s position.

State Minister Takei and Ambassador-Designate Tempone exchanged views on a wide range of agenda items of the bilateral relations and shared the view that the two countries would continue to work closely together.
