Foreign Minister Hayashi’s Meeting with Japanese Business Representatives

On January 10, commencing at 9:50 a.m. (local time; 9:50 p.m. on January 10 JST) for approximately 40 minutes, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, who is visiting Buenos Aires, Argentina, met with six representatives of Japanese companies in Argentina. The overview is as follows.
- Minister Hayashi stated that, amid the global energy and food crisis, it is significant to strengthen economic relations with Argentina, which is attracting attention as an important resource-producing country. He also stated that the development and improvement of the business and investment environment is required for this purpose, and that the Government of Japan would like to continue to provide support through an all-Japan approach, including the Embassy of Japan in Buenos Aires.
- The Japanese business representatives welcomed Minister Hayashi's visit to Argentina, and expressed their gratitude for support from the Government of Japan including the Embassy and their desire to contribute towards the strengthening of bilateral economic relations.
