  1. Second Japan-El Salvador Policy Consultation
    Second Japan-El Salvador Policy Consultation was held in San Salvador, the capital of El Salvador on May 25 (May 24 JST). Mr. Ishize, Director General of the Latin American and Caribbean Affairs Bureau, represented Japan, and Ms. Adriana Maria Mira de Pereira, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, represented El Salvador.
    During the meeting, Japan and El Salvador agreed to continue promoting economic cooperation and collaboration in the international arena. They also exchanged views on a wide range of topics, including strengthening bilateral economic relations and regional and international affairs.
  2. Courtesy Call by Director General of the Latin American and Caribbean Affairs Bureau Ishize on Vice President Ulloa of El Salvador
    On May 25 (May 24 JST), Director General of the Latin American and Caribbean Affairs Bureau Ishize paid a courtesy call on H.E. Dr. Felix Augusto Antonio Ulloa, Vice President of the Republic of El Salvador.
    Vice President Ulloa explained that, under the Bukele administration, El Salvador is working on initiatives in education, digital technology, and energy to achieve miraculous economic development following remarkable improvements in public safety. Director General Ishize expressed his gratitude for Vice President Ulloa's attendance at the Enthronement Ceremony and stated Japan's willingness to cooperate in El Salvador's development, while also expressing expectation for the participation of Japanese companies in energy infrastructure projects.
