From February 3rd to 10th, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan hosted the 14th Invitation Program for Young Leaders of FEALAC.
  1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan has been hosting this Program since 2000, one year after FEALAC was established, in order to deepen the understanding on common issues between Asia and Latin America, and to strengthen the relationship among FEALAC member countries. The theme for this year’s program was “use of technology for disaster risk reduction and sustainable growth,” an issue of common concern for both Asia and Latin America.
  2. On February 4th, 5th and 8th, the FEALAC young leaders received lectures on Japan’s approach to disaster risk reduction, sustainable growth and international cooperation on the theme. From February 5th to 7th, the young leaders visited various sites in Osaka University and Tsukuba City. On February 9th, the participants made presentations on their findings during this visit.
  3. On February 5th, the participants were given an audience with Their Imperial Highnesses Prince and Princes Akishino. On February 4th, the FEALAC young leaders paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Takashi Uto, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs.
