On September 3, commencing at 11:40 a.m. for approximately 50 minutes, Ms. ERI Arfiya, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Carlos Arturo HOYOS BOYD, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Panama, during his visit to Japan. The summary is as follows.
- At the outset, Vice-Minister Eri welcomed the visit of H.E. Mr. José Raúl Mulino Quintero, President of the Republic of Panama, accompanied by his spouse, Mrs. Maricel Cohen de Mulino and H.E. Mr. Javier Martínez-Acha Vásquez, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Panama, along with other ministers, as official guest of the Government of Japan for the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
- In response, Vice Minister Hoyos expressed his gratitude for the support provided by Japan thus far. He stated that bilateral relations have steadily progressed through the visit of Vice-Minister Eri to Panama in July this year and President Mulino's current visit to Japan, and that he wished to continue and further strengthen cooperation in a wide range of fields.
- Both sides held substantive discussions on bilateral relations and regional affairs, and agreed to further deepen bilateral ties on the occasion of President Mulino’s visit to Japan.
