Visit by Mr. Ochoa, Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights of the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the United Mexican States to Mr. AKAHORI Takeshi, Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs

On August 7, Mr. AKAHORI Takeshi, Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, received a visit by Mr. Enrique Javier Ochoa Martínez, Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights of the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the United Mexican States, who is visiting Japan.
- At the outset, Senior Deputy Minister AKAHORI expressed his gratitude for Undersecretary Ochoa’s attendance at the Peace Memorial Ceremony in Hiroshima. He welcomed the progress in high-level exchanges between the two countries and stated his expectation to elevate the relationship with Mexico to new heights. In response, Undersecretary Ochoa expressed his gratitude for the opportunity for this courtesy call and stated his expectation to work together to further strengthen relations between Japan and Mexico in international fora.
- The two sides discussed cooperation in international fora, including within the United Nations reform and in the areas of disarmament and non-proliferation, and agreed to work together to deepen bilateral relations between Japan and Mexico.
