Foreign Minister MOTEGI’s visit to the Mexico-Japan Association

On August 2, commencing at 4:55 p.m. local time (7:55 a.m. on August 3 Japan time) for 25 minutes, Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, who is currently visiting Mexico, visited the Mexico-Japan Association.
- Minister MOTEGI planted a commemorative tree to express his congratulations on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Mexico-Japan Association.
- In addition, Minister MOTEGI paid floral tribute at the memorial monument, and viewed the 70th anniversary commemorative photograph exhibition of the Mexico-Japan Association held at the Association’s building.
- Lastly, Minister MOTEGI stated that he was pleased to be able to visit the Mexico-Japan Association in this milestone year, the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Mexico-Japan Association this year and the 130th anniversary of Japanese immigration to Mexico next year, and expressed his appreciation to the members of the Association, as Nikkei (Japanese immigrants and their descendants), for serving as a bridge between Mexico and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Mexico, as well as Japan. Minister MOTEGI added that Japan and Mexico are seeking to further strengthen their relations in various fields, including energy, and expressed his hope for support from the Mexico-Japan Association.
