The 11th Japan-Mexico political consultations

On July 8, commencing at 10:00 a.m. for 4 hours, the 11th Japan-Mexico Political Consultations were held in Tokyo.
- The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. AKAHORI Takeshi, Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan and Ms. María Teresa MERCARDO PÉREZ, Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs of the United Mexican States.
- Mr. AKAHORI and Ms, MERCADO discussed not only bilateral relations in areas such as the economy and development cooperation but also cooperation in international forums to strengthen cooperation in order to elevate the relationship between the two countries, which are “strategic global partners”, to new heights. They deepened their understanding of each other’s positions and policies in these respective fields and agreed to further strengthen their coordination.
- Furthermore, they exchanged views on regional situations, such as those in the Indo Pacific, the Latin America, the Middle East and Ukraine.
