Dinner Hosted by State Minister for Foreign Affairs HORII with a Delegation led by López, President of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Deputies of Mexico

On July 3, from 7:00 p.m. for approximately two hours, State Minister for Foreign Affairs HORII Iwao hosted a dinner with a Delegation led by H.E. Dip Kenia LÓPEZ RABADÁN, President of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Deputies of the United Mexican States, who is currently visiting Japan by the invitation of the Speaker of the House of Representatives. They exchanged views on a wide range of topics, including Japan-Mexico relations. The summary is as follows:
- At the outset, State Minister HORII welcomed the visit to Japan by President of the Chamber of Deputies López and other members of the Mexican Federal Chamber of Deputies. In response, President of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Deputies López stated that the visit had been extremely fruitful and expressed her gratitude for the invitation extended by the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
- State Minister HORII noted that Japan and Mexico not only share a historic friendship but are also strategic global partners who share fundamental values and principles. He emphasized that strengthening cooperation in areas such as energy, the economy, including economic security, science and technology, agriculture and food is essential to elevating bilateral relations to new heights, and expressed his expectation to work closely with President of the Chamber of Deputies López and other members of the Mexican Federal Chamber of Deputies.
- In response, President of the Chamber of Deputies López and other members of the Mexican Federal Chamber of Deputies stated that relations with Japan are important for Mexico and expressed their expectation to work together to further strengthen bilateral relations by deepening cooperation in various fields.
- Furthermore, a wide range of opinions were exchanged between the State Minister and participants, including on recent international situations.
