State Minister for Foreign Affairs HORII's Video Message for the 17th National Nikkei Convention (CONANI)

On May 29, Mr. HORII Iwao, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, delivered a video message on the occasion of the 17th National Nikkei Convention (CONANI).
- In a video message, State Minister HORII expressed his respect to the Nikkei community for serving as a bridge in the history of the relationship between Japan and Mexico, which are “strategic global partners” that share fundamental values and principles such as freedom, democracy, human rights, and the rule of law, and jointly contribute to maintaining and strengthening an international order based on these values.
- He also stated that, as demonstrated by the Japan-Mexico summit telephone call held on April 21, the importance of relations between Japan and Mexico is growing. In this context, he stated that the presence of the Nikkei community in Mexico, which plays a valuable role in supporting bilateral relations, is also becoming increasingly significant. He further expressed the Japanese government’s commitment to further strengthening cooperation with the Nikkei community in Mexico and to significantly advancing bilateral relations.
