State Minister Horii meets with a delegation from the Chamber of Deputies of the United Mexican States

On May 12, commencing at 5:35 p.m. for approximately 40 minutes, State Minister for Foreign Affairs HORII Iwao received a courtesy call by the delegation of Members of the Chamber of Deputies of the United Mexican States, headed by Hon. Mr. Pedro Miguel HACES Barba, Federal Deputy. The summary is as follows.

  1. At the outset, State Minister Horii stated that Japan and Mexico are strategic global partners sharing fundamental values and principles, in addition to their historic friendly relations, and that strengthening bilateral relations is important. In response, the delegation of Members of the Mexican Chamber of Deputies, emphasizing the long-standing friendly relations between Mexico and Japan, stated that strengthening relations with Japan is also important for Mexico, and as federal deputies, they expressed their expectation to work toward enhancing bilateral relations.
  2. Both sides concurred to continue working together to deepen bilateral relations, including bilateral economic relations.
