On September 4, commencing at 5:00 p.m. for approximately 20 minutes, Mr. FUJII Hisayuki, State Minister for Foreign Affairs received a courtesy call from Mr. Ricardo Gallardo Cardona, Governor of San Luis Potosi State, who is visiting Japan. The overview is as follows:

  1. At the outset, State Minister Fujii welcomed Governor Gallardo’s visit to Japan and expressed congratulations on the opening of the San Luis Potosí's office in Japan, which the only Mexican state government office in Japan.
  2. In response, Governor Gallardo stated that strengthening relations between the state of San Luis Potosí and Japan is important from a long-term perspective, and that based on this view the San Luis Potosí’s office in Japan was established.
  3. State Minister Fujii requested support for Japanese companies in the state of San Luis Potosí. Governor Gallardo stated that the state of San Luis Potosí has been working to improve public safety, and expressed his desire to continue working toward expanding investment from Japan.
