Parliamentary Vice-Minister ERI’s attendance at “Meeting to Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Entry into Force of the Japan-Mexico EPA”

On June 12, 2025, Ms. ERI Arfiya, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended “Meeting to Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Entry into Force of the Japan-Mexico EPA” and gave an opening speech. The overview is as follows.
- Parliamentary Vice-Minister Eri emphasized that our economic relationships have made significant progress thanks to the Japan-Mexico EPA, and that the increase in the number of Japanese companies operating in Mexico as a result of the EPA has greatly contributed to Mexican society by creating employee in Mexico and transferring technology to Mexico.
- In addition, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Eri expected further cooperation between Japan and Mexico under the current international situation.
- At this meeting, Mr. TAKEUCHI Shinji, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, delivered a video message, and presentations were made by representatives of the Keidanren (Japan Business Federation), COMCE (the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology), and experts in the economic fields from both countries. There were active discussions on the Japan-Mexico EPA between industry, government, and academia from Japan and Mexico. Lastly, closing remarks were made by Mr. Esaú Garza de Vega, Secretary of Economic Development, Science and Technology of the Government of Aguascalientes, who was visiting Japan.
