Vice President PEÑA of the Dominican Republic to Visit Japan

Her Excellency Ms. Raquel PEÑA RODRÍGUEZ, Vice President of the Dominican Republic, will conduct a Working Visit to Japan from Friday, March 31 to Wednesday, April 5, 2023. The Vice President will visit Japan on behalf of His Excellency Mr. Luis Rodolfo ABINADER CORONA, President of the Dominican Republic, whose visit with the First Lady has been cancelled.
- During her stay in Japan, Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan, will receive a courtesy call from Vice President PEÑA. Vice President PEÑA will also visit Hiroshima.
- The Dominican Republic is an important partner that shares fundamental values with Japan, and places high value on democracy and free trade, among others. On the occasion of Vice President PEÑA’s visit to Japan, the two countries will exchange views on further strengthening of bilateral relations and address various global issues in light of the current international situation.
- The Government of Japan wishes that the visit by Vice President PEÑA will further deepen the long-standing friendship between the two countries.
