On May 2, commencing at 12:30 p.m. (local time. 1:30 a.m. on May 3, JST.), for approximately 75 minutes, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, who is visiting Barbados, attended a luncheon with people in Barbados related to Japan. The overview of the dinner is as follows.

  1. Minister Hayashi expressed his gratitude to attendees for their contributions, who have been involved in exchanges between Japan and Barbados in various fields. Minister Hayashi requested for their continued support in order to maintain and strengthen the strong trust and ties between the two countries, and stated that Japan will continue to promote exchanges between Japan and Barbados.
  2. Minister Hayashi exchanged views with attendees, including Dr. Winston Moore, BSc, MSc, PhD, Deputy Principal of the University of West Indies (UWI) at Cave Hill and Mr. Wayne Kirton, former Honorary Counsul-General for Japan, on promoting mutual understanding and challenges to further strengthen bilateral relationships.
