Japan-Antigua and Barbuda Relations
Meeting between State Minister for Foreign Affairs, HORII, and The Honourable NICHOLAS, Minister for Information, Communication Technologies (ICTs), Utilities and Energy of Antigua and Barbuda

On August 3, commencing at 11:00 a.m. for approximately 50 minutes, Mr. HORII Iwao, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held a meeting with The Honourable Melford NICHOLAS, Minister for Information, Communication Technologies (ICTs), Utilities and Energy of Antigua and Barbuda, who is visiting Japan.
- At the outset, State Minister HORII welcomed Minister Nicholas’s visit to Japan, and stated that Japan would like to further enhance its relationship with Antigua and Barbuda as the high level exchanges have become active since the Japan-CARICOM Ministerial-Level Conference two years ago. In response, Minister Nicholas expressed his gratitude for Japan’s cooperation in various fields, including water and disaster prevention.
- Both sides exchanged views on regional situations as well as cooperation in the international arena.
- They affirmed their intention to further strengthen the bilateral cooperation whilst taking into account Japanese technology and expertise, including those of the private sector.
