Exchange of Views between Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs AKAHORI and Secretary General Chapagain, IFRC

On June 23, commencing at 10:30 a.m. for approximately 20 minutes, Mr. AKAHORI Takeshi, Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan held an exchange of views with Mr. Jagan Chapagain, Secretary General of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), who was visiting Japan, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The overview is as follows:
- At the outset, Mr. AKAHORI welcomed Secretary General Chapagain's visit to Japan and stated that IFRC is an important partner for Japan in humanitarian assistance.
- In response, Secretary General Chapagain expressed his gratitude for Japan's support and stated his expectation for further strengthening the cooperation between Japan and IFRC.
- In addition, both sides exchanged views on the promotion of the Humanitarian-Development-Peace (HDP) Nexus.
