Prime Minister Shinzo Abe Receives a Courtesy Call from the Vice Presidents of Various Countries
On March 14, commencing at 5:50 p.m. for approximately one hour, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe received a courtesy call from the vice presidents of various countries during their stay in Sendai to attend the Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction. The overview is as follows.
1. Prime Minister Abe welcomed the visit of the vice presidents to Japan and their participation in the Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction, and stated that he would like to cooperate with the vice presidents toward the success of the conference. In addition, Prime Minister Abe stated that as a country advanced in disaster risk reduction, Japan would like to contribute to the world through the dissemination of the disaster reduction technologies it is proud of.
2. The vice presidents expressed their respect for Japan which is achieving the recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake, along with their will to share Japan’s experiences and lessons and their gratitude for Japan’s support and cooperation in various fields, including the field of disaster reduction.
