State Minister KUNIMITSU, Chair KAMIKAWA and others exchanging views

On August 4, commencing at 5:25 p.m. for approximately 20 minutes, Dr. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call from Ms. KAMIKAWA Yoko, Chair, Japan Parliamentarians Federation for Population (JPFP) and Member of the House of Representatives, and Mr. SAITO Tetsuo, Vice-Chair, JPFP and Member of the House of Representatives. The overview of the courtesy call is as follows:

  1. At the outset, State Minister KUNIMITSU received from Chair KAMIKAWA a letter of request regarding population issues.
  2. State Minister KUNIMITSU expressed appreciation for the vigorous activities of the JPFP and stated that efforts to resolve population issues constitute an important foundation for achieving sustainable development.
  3. In addition, State Minister KUNIMITSU stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to make proactive efforts toward resolving population issues in order to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and promote Women, Peace and Security (WPS), by promoting important issues as Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and the empowerment of women.
