Climate Change
Contribution to Trust Fund for Participation in the UNFCCC Process
COP22, the twenty-second session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) will take place in Marrakech, Morocco from 7-18 November 2016. During the session, the twelfth session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP12), the first Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Paris Agreement (CMA1), the second Ad Hoc Working Group on the Paris Agreement (APA2) and so forth will be held as well.
There are no national borders for climate change, one of the urgent issues against which both developed and developing countries have to unite. The negotiation on climate change therefore requires the full participation of delegates from all nations. To support delegates from developing countries to participate in COP22 and other relevant conferences, Japan will contribute approximately 100,000 US dollars to Trust Fund for Participation in the UNFCCC Process.
