Japan and the United Nations

June 20, 2016

The Year 2016 marks the 60th Anniversary of Japan's accession to the United Nations. In January 2016, Japan joined the United Nations Security Council as a non-permanent member for the 11th time, which is the largest number of times among all Member States. Japan is now working more proactively than ever for world peace and security.

On this occasion, MOFA prepared a learning material "Japan and the United Nations" which explains the UN's activities and Japan's international contributions in the framework of the UN in an easily comprehensible manner, especially for students.

Please click the link below to download this learning material (Uploaded on June 2016. A4 size, 5 pages). We hope that it will be helpful to enrich your understanding about the UN.
