Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs AKAHORI’s Attendance at the UN Peacebuilding Commission Ministerial-level Meeting

On September 26, Mr. AKAHORI Takeshi, Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, who was visiting New York, participated in the UN Peacebuilding Commission Ministerial-level Meeting.
In his statement, Senior Deputy Minister AKAHORI stressed, based on lessons learned through Japan’s past activities in peacebuilding, the importance of institution building and investment in people, as well as the better coordination between the Peacebuilding Commission and the Security Council. He also stated that Japan will contribute to the discussion toward the 2025 Peacebuilding Architecture Review (2025PBAR).
