Working Lunch between Chief Cabinet Secretary HAYASHI Yoshimasa and Honorable Linda Thomas-Greenfield, Representative of the United States of America to the United Nations

On April 18, starting at 11:45 a.m. for approximately 60 minutes, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan, hosted working lunch for Honorable Linda Thomas-Greenfield, Representative of the United States of America to the United Nations (UN). The overview of the meeting is as follows.
- Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi welcomed the success of Prime Minister Kishida’s recent official visit to the United States and stressed that it is important for the two countries to work towards concrete cooperation, building on the outcome of the visit. In response, Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield highly appreciated the ongoing Japan-U.S. and Japan-U.S.-ROK cooperation including in the UN Security Council.
- Both sides exchanged views on a wide variety of issues such as dealing with North Korea including the abductions issue and the nuclear and missile issue as well as the situation in the Middle East, and concurred to work together even more closely including in the UN.
