Visit to Japan by United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres

From August 19 to 23, H. E. Mr. António Manuel de Oliveira Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, will visit Japan to attend the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9) and the UN Special Day at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
- On August 20 and 21, Secretary-General Guterres will participate in TICAD 9. On this occasion, he is scheduled to hold a meeting with Mr. ISHIBA Shigeru, Prime Minister of Japan, and attend a breakfast hosted by Mr. IWAYA Takeshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan.
- On August 22, Secretary-General Guterres is scheduled to attend the UN Special Day at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
- This visit is expected to further strengthen the cooperative relationship between Japan and the United Nations.
