On April 17, commencing at 8:40 p.m. on April 17 (3:40 a.m. on April 18 Japan time) for approximately 100 minutes, Ms. KAMIKAWA Yoko, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, who is visiting Capri Island, Italy to attend the G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting, participated in the working dinner on "Reaching out to Global Partners". The overview is as follows (G7 Foreign Ministers and The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy participated).

  1. At this working dinner, the G7 members held a candid and wide-ranging discussions on cooperation with Global partners.
  2. Minister Kamikawa stated that this topic is one of the top priorities under the Japanese Presidency last year, and that she welcomed the fact that H.E. Mr. Antonio TAJANI, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic, had made it the first agenda item of this G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting. Minister Kamikawa also touched on the importance of the "rule of law" and "human dignity," and explained Japan's efforts, as the only G7 member in Asia, to strengthen cooperation with countries in the Indo-Pacific region.
  3. The G7 Foreign Ministers confirmed that it is important for the G7 to continue to strengthen cooperation with Global partners and work together to address global challenges.
