On February 11, commencing at 1:30 p.m. (at 11:30 a.m. JST) and for approximately 1 hour, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, the Minister of Foreign Minister of Japan, during his visit to Australia to attend the Japan-Australia-India-U.S. Foreign Ministers' Meeting, paid a courtesy call on The Hon. Scott Morrison, MP, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Australia, together with H.E. Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister of India, and the Honorable Antony Blinken, Secretary of State of the United States of America.

At the courtesy call, Prime Minister Morrison welcomed the foreign ministers' visit to Australia. Minister Hayashi said that holding the Fourth Japan-Australia-India-U.S. Foreign Ministers' Meeting this time is very timely and helps further promote cooperation among the four countries toward the realization of a "Free and Open Indo-Pacific.” He also conveyed that the Prime Minister Kishida is looking forward to the next Japan-Australia-India-U.S. Summit Meeting to be held in Japan in the first half of the 2022. Prime Minister Morrison and the Ministers then exchanged views on Japan-Australia-India-U.S. cooperation and regional issues.
