- The 4th Japan-China Counter-Terrorism Consultation was held in Beijing, China on July 11, 2018.
- H.E. Mr. Eiji Yamamoto, Ambassador in charge of International Cooperation for Countering Terrorism and International Organized Crime, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and Mr. Liu Shaobin, Director General of Department of External Security Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, represented respective sides. Officials from both countries' counter-terrorism related ministries and agencies attended the meeting.
- Japan and China exchanged views on the current international and regional terrorism situation, and also on counter-terrorism cooperation.
