Japan-India Relations

The Japan-India Joint Working Group on Counter-Terrorism held its 5th meeting in Tokyo, Japan on November 7, 2017.

H.E. Mr. Eiji Yamamoto, Ambassador in charge of International Cooperation for Countering Terrorism and International Organized Crime, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and H.E. Mr. Ravi Thapar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs of India represented respective sides. Officials from counter-terrorism related ministries and agencies also attended the meeting.

In this meeting, Japan and India exchanged views on issues such as current regional terrorism situation, counter-terrorism measures in both countries and international cooperation on counter-terrorism and violent extremism.
