Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding

The Mid-Career Course is a professional development course designed to help mid-level professionals working in peacebuilding and international development to further their careers and achieve their career goals.

  1. The Program for Global Human Resource Development for Peacebuilding and Development is established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA) in order to strengthen the civilian capacity of Japan and other countries in the field of peacebuilding and development. Since 2024 fiscal year MOFA has commissioned Hiroshima University to implement the program. Japan places emphasis on contributing to the peace and stability of the international community under the policy of “Proactive Contribution to Peace” based on the principle of international cooperation.
  2. The application guidelines and materials can be found on the Hiroshima University websiteOpen a New Window. The Mid-Career Course is aimed at career development for around 20 participants from all nationalities who have at least 7 years of work experience in fields related to peacebuilding and development and will be conducted in English. This course especially welcomes applicants from international organizations.
  3. This course will be conducted in Hiroshima from January 7 to 13, 2026.
  4. The application will be open from July 22 to September 1, 2025 (5:00 PM, Japan Time).
