Japan's Contribution to UN Peacekeeping Operations (PKO)

  1. The Program for Global Human Resource Development for Peacebuilding and Development is a program established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA) in order to strengthen the civilian capacity of Japan and other countries in the field of peacebuilding and development. MOFA has commissioned Hiroshima University to implement the program.
  2. Applications are now open for about 10 non-Japanese Program Associates (PAs) to participate in the Primary Course. Please submit your application and other required documents on the Hiroshima University websiteOpen a New Window by 9:00 am Japan Time on July 11, 2025 (pre-entry needed by July 7).
    [note] Those from the following countries, region and organization are eligible to apply for this program this year: Cambodia, East Timor, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Guatemala, Ecuador, Armenia, Palestine, Iraq, Cameroon, South Sudan and African Union Commission (AUC).
  3. The course is for 4 weeks from November 3 to 30, 2025.
