  1. On June 4, Mr. ONISHI Yohei, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, attended the homecoming ceremony for four members of the Japan's international peace cooperation contingent in Sinai Peninsula (Egypt) who were dispatched for one year as 7th headquarters staff to Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) (Lieutenant Colonel AKATSUKA Kiyoshi, Major KIGAMI Yusuke, Major MAENO Kanehiro and Staff Sergeant MORI Yochiki).
  2. Mr. ONISHI expressed his respect and appreciation for their contribution to the stability between Israel and Egypt which is significant for the peace and stability in the Middle East, a foundation of peace and prosperity for Japan. He also wished them a successful future career.

Japan has dispatched Headquarters staff personnel to the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO), which carries out peacekeeping activities such as monitoring of ceasefire between Egypt and Israel, since April 2019. 4 staff officers are currently serving in the Liaison department and Engineering Section at the Headquarters of the MFO in Sharm El Sheikh in the Sinai Peninsula.
