Attendance of State Minister for Foreign Affairs HRII, at the Departure Ceremony for MFO in Sinai

- On April 23, Mr. SHIMADA Tomoaki, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, attended the departure ceremony for four members of the Japan's international peace cooperation contingent who will be dispatched as 8th headquarters staff there (Lieutenant Colonel KANETSUKA Tomonari, Major TABATA Daisuke, Major KISHIMOTO Kenta and Staff Sergent ICHIJI Satoshi).
- Parliamentary Vice-Minister SHIMADA expressed his respect for their contribution to the stability between Israel and Egypt which is significant for the peace and stability in the Middle East, a foundation of peace and prosperity for Japan. He also wished them a successful completion of their mission and their well-being there.

Japan has dispatched Headquarters staff personnel to the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO), which carries out peacekeeping activities such as monitoring of ceasefire between Egypt and Israel, since April 2019. 4 staff officers are currently serving in the Liaison department and Engineering Section at the Headquarters of the MFO in Sharm El Sheikh in the Sinai Peninsula.
