Visit to Japan by His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Holy See

- His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Holy See, will pay a visit to Japan from June 28 to July 1 as official guest of the Government of Japan for participation to the Vatican’s National Day Event of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
- During his stay in Japan, Secretary of State Parolin will have Imperial Audience with Her Imperial Highness Princess Tomohito of Mikasa. Mr. ISHIBA Shigeru, Prime Minister of Japan will also hold a summit meeting with the Secretary of State.
- Japan and Vatican have confirmed that they will further strengthen bilateral relations, through occasions such as the 80th anniversary of the establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Vatican in 2022. It is expected that the visit of Secretary of State Parolin to Japan and Vatican's participation in the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan will further deepen bilateral relations.
