Parliamentary Vice-Minister Fukazawa and President Trautmann who exchange opinions after having a seat at a table

On October 10, commencing at 9:30am for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. FUKAZAWA Yoichi, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call from H.E.Ms. Catherine Trautmann, President of the European Center for Japanese Studies in Alsace (CEEJA). The overview of the courtesy call is as follows.

  1. At the outset, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Fukazawa welcomed President Trautmann's visit to Japan and expressed his appreciation for her efforts in promoting exchanges not only between Japan and Alsace, but also between Japan and France as well as between Japan and Europe.
  2. They welcomed the active cultural exchanges between Japan and France, then exchanged views on cooperation in a wide range of fields, especially in contemporary art, manga, and animation.
  3. They also exchanged views on the 160th anniversary of Japan-Alsace exchanges which was held this year and next year, as well as on the dissemination of the Japanese culture to the world.
