State Minister for Foreign Affairs Miyaji delivering his remarks on behalf of the Japanese government

On June 3, Mr. MIYAJI Takuma, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended the reception commemorating the 120th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Norway held in Tokyo, and delivered his remarks on behalf of the Japanese government. The overview is as follows.

  1. The reception was held on the occasion of Foreign Minister Eide's visit to Japan. Following the opening remark by H.E. Mr. Espen Barth Eide, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the kingdom of Norway and State Minister Miyaji delivered his remarks.
  2. State Minister Miyaji welcomed Foreign Minister Eide's visit to Japan and stated that in the current international situation, cooperation between the two countries is more important than ever before. State Minister Miyaji also stated that cooperation between the two countries is progressing further in a wide range of fields, including security, economy and academia, and that he himself hopes to work to develop Japan-Norway relations.
