Informal talks between Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs YOSHIKAWA Yuumi and Ms. Femke HALSEMA, Mayor of the City of Amsterdam

On March 1, commencing at 2:15 p.m. for approximately 30 minutes, Ms. YOSHIKAWA Yuumi, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs held informal talks with Ms. Femke HALSEMA, Mayor of the City of Amsterdam of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, who is currently visiting Japan. The overview is as follows.
- Ms. Yoshikawa stated that she welcomed the progress being made between Japan and the Netherlands on exchanges and cooperation in a range of areas including investment and trade, on the basis of their historical friendship. She expressed her intention to continue to collaborate with the city of Amsterdam in particular, where many Japanese nationals live and Japanese firms are based.
- Ms. Yoshikawa and Mayor Halsema also exchanged views on various topics such as the flow of people between Japan and the Netherlands, especially Amsterdam, international affairs, as well as finance for sustainable growth, start-up support, and agricultural policy.
